Muscat, March 2024: Dr. Rajai Sweis, CEO of Middle East Insurance Company (MEICO), awarded the Dr. Rajai Sweis Award for Best Insurance Research to Ms. Azza Gaber, Senior Marketing and Business Development Specialist at Misr Insurance Holding Company. Ms. Gaber was recognized for her exceptional research titled “For a More Sustainable and Inclusive Arab Insurance Industry: How Can Arab Companies Engage in the AI Revolution?”
The award ceremony was one of the highlights of the 34th General Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF), that was held in Muscat, Oman, from February 18 to 21.
On this occasion, Dr. Sweis stated: “We owe it to our profession to give back to the community in various ways, whether through donations, teaching or awards. It is about contributing to the future of our industry.”
This year, 39 research papers were submitted and evaluated by the judging committee, with three being shortlisted before selecting the winning research. GAIF confirmed the ongoing support for the Dr. Rajai Sweis Award, which includes a prize of five thousand US dollars for the best insurance research.
For years, the Dr. Rajai Sweis Award has inspired innovation within the insurance industry. By annually honoring outstanding contributions, the award underscores the importance of continuous improvement in insurance studies. This year’s award to a distinguished researcher from Egypt highlights the global impact of the award and Dr. Sweis’s vision for advancing the future of insurance research.
