Meet Our Dedicated Leaders:
Eng. Majed Smairat
General Manager
- Eng. Majed Born in 1971 who obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan in 1993.
- Holds the Professional Insurance Certificate (PIC) from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
- Obtained Diploma and advanced diploma from the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, Bahrain.
- He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Insurance  Federation from 2015 to 2018
- In 2018, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Insurance Federation till today.
- He is also a Board Member of the General Arab Insurance Federation in Cairo and a member of the Executive Committee from 2018 till now
- Board member of the Arab insurance Institute – Syria
- He joined the company in 1994, and attended various courses in insurance and reinsurance in Jordan and abroad, rising through the ranks to become General Manager.
Mr. Zakariya Ammar
Assistant General Manager - Life and Medical Department
- Born in 1972, Mr. Zakariya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, and Banking Sciences from Yarmouk University in 1994.
- He is a legally certified insurer holding the Global Fellowship FCII from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London (August 2024), the Associate ACII degree from the same institute, and the Fellowship in Life and Medical Insurance FLMI from the Life Management Institute in the United States.
- He is Certified Medical Underwriting Specialist (CUS, Genre Business School, Germany), Certified Trainer of Trainer (TOT, Institute of banking and finance), has done several researches and articles related to Insurance and Finance topics.
- He is the chairman of the life and medical committee in the Jordan insurance Federation.
- He joined the company in 1995, and progressed through various positions to become the Assistant General Manager for Life and Medical Department.
Eng. Issa Smairat
Assistant General Manager – Fire, General Accidents, & Engineering Department
- Born in 1982, Eng. Issa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Jordan in 2004. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Electronic Business from Mutah University in 2014.
- He is a legally certified insurer holding the Global Fellowship FCII from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, the Associate ACII degree from the same institute, and the Fellowship in Life and Medical Insurance FLMI from the Life Management Institute in the United States.
- He joined the company in 2004, and advanced through the ranks to become the Assistant General Manager for Fire, General Accidents, & Engineering Department.
Mr. Odeh Abu Dayyeh
Assistant General Manager - Marine and Aviation Insurance Department
- Born in 1980, Mr. Odeh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial and Banking Sciences from Amman Al-Ahliyya University in 2002, and a Fellowship FCII from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
- He is a legally certified insurer with an Associate ACII degree from the same institute. He joined the company in 2002, and advanced through various positions to become the Assistant General Manager for Marine and Aviation Insurance Affairs.
Mr. Osama Salim Taqali
Assistant General Manager – Finance
- Born in 1982. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Applied Science University in 2005
- Certified by the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (BIBF) in 2008
- Member of the Financial Committee at the Jordanian Insurance Federation from 2021 to 2024
- Worked as an Internal Audit Manager at United Insurance Company from 2014 to 2017
- Served as Finance and Administrative Manager at United Insurance Company from 2017 to 2020
- Served as Deputy General Manager for Financial and Administrative Affairs at United Insurance Company from 2022 to 2024
- Joined the company in December 2024 as Assistant General Manager for Finance department.
Mr. Freih Kawar
Manager – Finance Department
- Born in 1976, Mr. Freih holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut in 1998.
- He joined the company in 2010, and advanced through various positions to become the Finance Manager.
Mr. Issam Barakat
Manager - Motor Department
- Born in 1970, Mr. Issam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Yarmouk University in 1993. He is a legally certified insurer with an Associate ACII from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
- He was awarded the Dr. Rajai Sweis Prize from the General Arab Insurance Federation for the best specialized research at the Arab level.
- He joined the company in 1996, and advanced through various positions to become the Director of the Automobile Department.
Mr. Baha Abbasi
Production and Branches Manager
- Mr. Baha Abbasi was born in 1973.
- Began his professional career in engineering and sales engineering in 1998 when he worked at Hilti (HILTI) in Saudi Arabia.
- Mr. Baha decided to shift to the insurance sector in 2005, where he worked in various technical departments as well as the sales department at both Al Nisr Al Arabi Insurance Company and the Jordanian French Insurance Company.
- Joined Middle East Insurance as Assistant Manager of the Production and Branches Department in October 2022. In 2024, he was promoted to Production and Branches Department Manager.
Mrs. Rima Khouri
Manager - Information Systems Department
- Born in 1970, Mrs. Rima holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Jordan in 1991.
- She attended several specialized courses in programming and information systems and obtained a certification in Oracle systems (OCP) and a PIC insurance certification. She joined the company in 1992, and advanced through various positions to become the Director of the Information Systems Department in 2022.
Mr. Mohannad Abu Zaid
Internal Audit Manager
- Born in 1986, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Banking from The Hashemite University in 2008
- Certified in CAMS,CRCM and completed the JCPA course
- Worked as an Internal Auditor at the Euro Arab Insurance Group from 2016 to 2018
- Worked as an Internal Audit manager at the Arab Jordanian Insurance Group from 2018 to 2021
- Worked as an Risk Management & Compliance Manager from 2021 to 2023 at Arabia insurance company-Jordan
- Served as Internal Audit Manager at the Arabia Insurance company-Jordan from 2023 to 2025
- Joined Middle East Insurance in November 2025 as Internal Audit Manager
Miss Ikhlas Sama’n
Manager – Administration Department
- Born in 1971, Miss Ikhlas holds a comprehensive diploma in Accounting from the Community College in 1993. She also holds a PIC insurance certification for the year 2012 from the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Financial Studies, and a CHRM certification in Human Resources in 2016 from the Institute of Banking Studies.
- She has over 30 years of experience in administrative and employee affairs. She joined the company in 2008.
Mr. Amjad Abdulrahman Mahmoud Jallad
Director of the Legal Department
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Beirut Arab University (1993–1996)
- Practicing lawyer and member of the Jordan Bar Association since 1999
- Has over 25 years of experience in statutory law and insurance-related matters
- Specialized in managing legal cases and disputes, insurance claims, contract drafting and review, and legal compliance
Joined Middle East Insurance Company in 2002 and progressed through various positions within the legal department until being appointed Director of the Legal Department in 2025
